Condensers

The role of the condenser is to dissipate the heat given off by the refrigerant by condensation. The heat discharged by the condenser is practically the sum of the heat absorbed by the evaporator from the cooled medium and the calorific equivalent of the mechanical work in the compressor. In heat pumps the condenser has the same role, but it is the device that achieves the useful effect, providing heat to the heated environment.
Depending on the nature of the coolant, there are three types of condensors:
– air cooled;
– water cooled;
– mixed cooled (with water and air).
The sizing of the condensors is very important, because with each degree of increase of the condensing temperature, the power absorbed by the compressor increases by approx. 4%.
